The Rotary Foundation
by Dave Ring
Dave shared a video demonstrating how the Rotary Foundation the efforts funded by Rotary. The foundation recently celebrated 100 YEARS OF DOING GOOD IN THE WORLD. Following the video, Dave spoke about some of the ways members can give and the importance of giving to the foundation.
Dave recognized club members who currently give, are sustaining members, and Paul Harris Fellows. A sustaining member gives $100 to the foundation each year. A Paul Harris Fellow recognition is awarded to those who have given $1000 to the foundation, with additional recognition for each $1000.
In part two of Dave’s presentation, he hosted a trivia game. Did you know our club has 46 Paul Harris Fellows and 43 Sustaining Members? What year was our club founded? Who started The Rotary Foundation? In what year? The answers to these questions and more were not always easily answered. The top three winning tables each received a bag of candy to share.
